This state is called homeostasis.

The human microbiome is responsible for maintaining the body's homeostasis.
It can be disturbed by many factors such as:

- permanent stress,
- The use of certain drugs.
Microbiome - functions
The functions of the microbiome can be compared to a kind of bioreactor, which produces powerful amounts of bioactive substances on a regular basis, through the process of fermentation, which produce many health-promoting effects on the human body.
A proper gut microbiome influences, among other things:
- stimulation of the immune system,
- reduction of inflammatory processes,
- cholesterol metabolism,
- The absorption of vitamins and minerals.
In addition, the right gut microbiome can influence:
- prevention of pathogen development,
- Inactivation of toxins,
- Supporting regenerative processes.
