CHAGA A healthy immune system is the foundation of a healthy body, and one of the best-known health benefits of the chaga mushroom is its ability to support immune function thanks to the polysaccharides it contains, which have just such properties (1,2). Chaga can help regulate the production of cytokines. Cytokines are chemical messengers of the immune system that play an important role in stimulating white blood cells. They are the immune system's first line of defense. This can help fight infections, starting as early as a minor cold. By promoting the formation of beneficial cytokines, chaga stimulates white blood cells, which are essential for fighting off harmful bacteria or viruses. In addition, other studies show that chaga, on the other hand, can prevent the production of harmful cytokines that cause chronic inflammation and are linked to disease. Using one study as an example, chaga extract reduced inflammation and intestinal damage by inhibiting inflammatory cytokines (3-6). Chaga is also a powerful antioxidant, making it an excellent contender for fighting free radicals and inflammation.
